The background and philosophy driving this engine.

Antonio Javier Martinez

Close to a decade in Philippine insurance—commercial underwriting, product development, and broker/agency distribution. I now do independent advisory. Before that: new-initiatives and product for an insurtech's non-motor book, and corporate strategy for one of the country's largest carriers.

Insurance math isn't complicated. It's kept opaque because opacity is where the commission lives. ClearCover runs two calculators. The life engine uses the DIME framework — Debt, Income, Mortgage, Education — against Philippine statutory offsets (SSS, GSIS, Pag-IBIG) to show your protection gap. The health engine sizes the peso gap between what hospitals actually charge at your preferred tier and what PhilHealth and your HMO will actually cover. Both give you a number, in pesos, before anyone tries to sell you a policy sized off gut feel.

Disclosure

I build insurance products for a living — currently at a company operating in the motor and non-motor space. ClearCover is a personal, non-commercial project, independent of that role. It does not name, recommend, or link to any insurer, broker, or agent. Not mine or anyone else's. It does not capture leads, sell data, or transmit anything you enter. If you're ready to buy a policy, that's a conversation with a licensed agent or broker. This tool's job ends at telling you how much cover and what type, before you have that conversation.
